Are you one of those people who almost attended t2? Well, we have good news for you. Our friends at MWR Labs wrote an awesome blog post about t2’11. Ladies and gentlemen: A Taste of Finland
t2’11 in the News
At this year’s t2’11 infosec conference, Juha-Antero Puistola, Head Lecturer from the Department of Strategic and Defense Studies at the Finnish National Defense University set the tone with his broad analysis of terrorism and counter-terrorism from the perspective of information security. Here is an article covering his talk (in Finnish).
Information security is a hot topic these days as many countries are trying to write policies and suggest ways of living to their populations that will safeguard them against impending cyber attack. Despite all that’s being done, though, much uncertainty exists as references to traditional physical borders and analyses of countries as stand-alone sovereign nations no longer apply. Some attendees and speakers were interviewed for their opinions on information security by the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE).
Picture or It Did Not Happen!
This year we had a professional photographer at t2’11. Our flickr photostream can be viewed at http://www.flickr.com/photos/t2_fi

t2′11 Challenge Solution
In real life, your technical superiority is one thing and your ability to present your work is another. Therefore, we feel that Timo Teräs from Finland submitted the best write-up that both eloquently and accurately illustrates the Challenge. We would like to point out that Timo’s persistence and hard work have finally paid off: Timo has always been in the top ten in previous challenges, and now we feel that his write-up of the t2’11 Challenge has earned him the honor of Mr Elegance for 2011. So, without further ado, let me show you what he did in his own words:
t2′11 Challenge Winners
Ludvig Strigeus from Sweden was the first one to solve the t2’11 Challenge. The competition was fierce with only a four minute margin between first and second place!
The second ticket goes to Finland’s Timo Teräs. Officially, he’ll be known as Mr. Elegance for 2011. His write up was extremely well done and he pretty much found all the Easter eggs, too. This was no small feat by any means as the overall quality of the submitted write-ups this year was outstanding!
Congratulations to both winners!
We would like to thank everyone for participating. And, if you feel that you have an interesting Challenge to suggest for t2’12, please let us know 🙂
