We wish you all merry xmas and happy new year. As a Christmas gift we (finally) release the solution to t2’09 Challenge.
t2’09 is over – thank You
All those who contributed to the conference either as an attendee or as a speaker: Thank You! It is fair to conclude that the conference was a great success. We feel that there were many very interesting presentations and a very good atmosphere for discussion and networking.
Until next year, please send feedback about what topic, or who you would like to see at the conference. This way you can contribute what we will be next year. Be part of it.
We also received excellent feedback for the content for this year, and we hope to see you next year at T2´10!

Mark Debenham to talk about Virtualization
Mark Debenham from Microsoft will take the audience through some of the risks associated with the reliance on virtualization from a security perspective with a demo or two along the way.
T2 staff thinks that this talk will be an important lesson for those of you dealing with virtualization. Don’t miss the demo train!
Please see the schedule for details.
Schedule Rearrangement
We are extremely sorry about the short notice but we had to rearrange the schedule.
Effectively this means that Nishad Herath’s talks will be replaced by Mark Debenham and Mikko Hyppönen.
We apologize for the possible inconvenience. The updated schedule will be online shortly.
t2’09 Student Pricing
We have received quite many requests regarding student pricing. Earlier we haven’t had any student pricing. However, due to the demand we will try this out now. The student price is 200 € + VAT 22 % = 244 €
In order to get the student pricing you need to:
- be a full time student
- have valid student id (we well ask a copy of it)
If you are interested please email us.
t2’09 Challenge Winners
As promised earlier here are the winners:
Timo Hirvonen from Tampere, Finland was the first one to solve the t2′09 Challenge. The feat that he pulled off was absolutely amazing. His solution was both fast AND elegant.
The second ticket goes to Mathieu Gaspard, France. He is the official Mr. Elegance. His solution was well written and included (among other things) multiple ways to solve the Challenge Phase 2.
Congratulations to both winners!
We would also like to thank everybody who attended. If you feel that you would have an interesting Challenge for t2’10 please let us know 🙂
t2′09 Challenge Stats – EOF
This is the last post regarding the Challenge stats. We are sorry about the silence but basically the situation is exactly the same as week ago.
Around 50-60 contestants have been able to solve the first phase. Nine contestants have been able to solve all the remaining phases as well. So there is still room for one solution (if you are after the ticket that is).
We will wait two more weeks and will announce the second winner on 5th of October. So be quick and you will still have a chance to make it to the “elegance evaluation” round 🙂
t2′09 Challenge Stats – Week 2009-09-07 – 2009-09-11
Around 50 contestants have been able to solve the first phase. Nine contestants have been able to solve all the remaining phases as well. Congrats to everybody!
As stated at http://www.t2.fi/challenge/ the Advisory Board will select another winner among the next ten correct answers. The criteria for the other selection is the elegance of the answer.
So be quick and you will still have a chance to make it to the “elegance evaluation” round 🙂
t2′09 Challenge Stats – Weekend 2009-09-06 – 2009-09-06
Only three contestants have been able to solve all the phases of the Challenge so far. Congrats!
We would also like to remind you that if you are after a free ticket it makes sense to pay attention to your write up as the second ticket is given away to a contestant who is able to come up with the most elegant solution.
Please see http://www.t2.fi/challenge/ for details.
