t2’13 Final Schedule Published

The final schedule for t2’13 has been published.

Some of you might notice that there is still one more slot open on the second day. The current plan is to have a surprise speaker there so that is on purpose 🙂 Please note that registration is open until October 18, 2013 and we will close it as soon as we hit total of 99 people (speakers and organizers included). So if you want to be sure that you’ll actually make it – register sooner than later.

Important: Our payment provider is currently in the process of fixing the credit card payment gateway. Effectively this means that it is not possible to pay with credit card at the moment. We hope to get it fixed within couple of days. Other payment options are available as usual.

We would also like to thank everyone who sent in CFP submissions. If your submission did not get approved, please keep in mind that we were very pleased to receive it. There were many interesting submissions and ideas, and with our final selection, we did our very best to ensure that this year’s program has “something for everyone”.

Looking forward to see you all soon!

t2′13 Challenge to be released 2013-09-07 10:00 EEST

We’re pleased to announce the release of the t2’13 Challenge!

Soon after t2’12 was over, we discovered that the conference had been infiltrated by an APT. Our best guess is that the APT pwned the laptop of one of the conference organizers and successfully exfiltrated some data. Luckily for us, our beloved APT got so hammered on the conference dinner on Thursday that he forgot his USB thumb drive to Zetor. We are confident that this OPSEC blunder will lead us to what was stolen but despite our best efforts we have not been able to decipher the contents of the USB drive. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to recover the stolen content.

The first person to recover all content will win a free ticket to t2’13 conference. In addition to this, the creators of the Challenge will select another winner among the next ten correct answers. The criteria for the other selection is the elegance of the answer. In short, you can win with both speed and style.

The t2’13 Challenge will be released 2013-09-07 10:00 EEST right here at http://t2.fi/

Call for Papers 2013

We are pleased to announce the annual t2’13 infosec conference, which will take place in Helsinki, Finland, from October 24 to 25, 2013.

We are looking for original, preferably technical presentations in the fields of information security. Presentations should last a minimum of 60 minutes and a maximum of two hours and be presented in English.

Please note that presentations that focus on marketing or directly promoting a company’s products will not be accepted.

We will be accepting talk proposals until July 15, 2013. All submitted presentations will be reviewed by the t2 Advisory Board.

As usual, selected speakers will be reimbursed for travel and hotel costs. We also proud ourselves of taking good care of the speakers and there is always something going on during the evenings 🙂

We suggest strongly that you submit earlier rather than later, since we will close the CFP early once we receive enough quality submissions to fill the slots.

Please include the following with your submission (incomplete submissions won’t be accepted):

  1. Contact information (email and cell phone)
  2. Country and city of origin for your travel to the conference
  3. Brief biography (including employer and/or affiliations)
  4. Title of the presentation
  5. Presentation abstract
  6. Explanation why your submission is significant
  7. If your presentation references a paper or piece of software that you have published, please provide us with either a copy of the said paper or software, or an URL where we can obtain it
  8. List any other publications or conferences where this material has been or will be published/submitted

Please send the above information to cfp-2013 (at) lists.t2.fi
