t2’12 Challenge

Type

Hunt for Carders

Status

The challenge is over.

Description

A well known carder gang needs to be found and taken down, and it requires an investigator with ninja skills to do it. Based on previously gathered intelligence, each gang member possess a piece of an image file that is known to be incriminating evidence and enough to put the whole gang behind bars. The only lead we have is the homepage of a young woman who is supposedly the girlfriend of one the gang members. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find all gang members and their pieces of the image file.

As soon as you find a PNG image, browse to http://t2.fi/ext/2012/challenge and fill out the form. Once you have entered all MD5s, you will receive an email with your rank. Please reply to the email with a write-up of how you solved the challenge. The new and improved scoreboard gives you (almost) real-time information on how you are ranking against other investigators.

The first person to enter all correct MD5s will win a free ticket to t2’12 conference. In addition to this, the Advisory Board will select another winner among the next ten correct answers. The criteria for the other selection is the elegance of the answer. In short, you can win with both speed and style. Either way the solution must include a detailed description of methods and tools used.

Rules of the Challenge
